Kamagra Polo: a lozenge that dissolves slowly

Why a lozenge rather than a tablet?

Three reasons, and they all come down to practicality.

It needs no water. It looks like something ordinary rather than medication. And because it dissolves in the mouth, part of the dose is absorbed there and enters the bloodstream directly.

That last point means a faster start than a swallowed tablet, and less dependence on whether you have just eaten.

Let it dissolve

This is the one instruction that determines whether the format does anything useful.

• Place it in the mouth and let it dissolve slowly.
• Do not crunch or chew it to pieces.
• Do not swallow it whole.
• Avoid drinking for a short while afterwards.
• Twenty to thirty minutes beforehand.
• Once in twenty-four hours.

Crunching it and swallowing turns it into an ordinary tablet taken awkwardly. The slow dissolution is the whole mechanism.

Appearance deserves a word

A medicine that looks and tastes like a sweet needs treating with a bit more care than a plain tablet.

It has genuine contraindications and genuine interactions. Store it as medicine, in its original packaging, well out of reach of children.

Worth being deliberate about, because this format is easy to leave lying around in a way you would not with a blister strip.

What it contains

Sildenafil, identical to the standard tablet.

The process: arousal releases nitric oxide in the erectile tissue, which produces a messenger that relaxes the smooth muscle of the small arteries. Blood flows in, the engorging tissue compresses the draining veins, and the blood stays.

PDE5 breaks down the messenger and the erection subsides. Sildenafil blocks PDE5.

It maintains rather than initiates. Arousal is still where it starts.

Nitrates: the one hard stop

This is the single line on the page with no room for interpretation.

Glyceryl trinitrate, isosorbide mononitrate, isosorbide dinitrate, nicorandil — anything taken for angina, including the spray carried for emergencies.

Together they can drop blood pressure to a dangerous level. Not mild dizziness. Circulatory collapse.

The same applies to amyl nitrite used recreationally, sold as poppers. That combination reaches emergency departments more often than anyone admits.

If you take anything in that group, this is out. No exceptions, no gap, no half tablet.

Food and alcohol

Because part of the absorption happens in the mouth, this format depends less on meal timing than a swallowed tablet. A very heavy fatty meal will still slow the rest of it.

Alcohol beyond a couple of drinks is counterproductive — it dampens arousal at the nervous system level and lowers blood pressure on top of the drug's effect.

Who should not take it

• Recent heart attack or stroke
• Unstable angina, or chest pain on light exertion
• Severe heart failure
• Uncontrolled high blood pressure, or markedly low blood pressure
• Severe liver or kidney disease
• Retinitis pigmentosa
• Previous sudden vision loss from reduced optic nerve blood supply

Alpha blockers for an enlarged prostate lower blood pressure too, and the effects add together. That combination needs arranging deliberately rather than taken casually.

Possible side effects

• Headache
• Flushing
• Nasal congestion
• Indigestion
• A tingling or numb sensation in the mouth
• Blue-tinged vision
• Dizziness

Two things that need help immediately

An erection lasting more than four hours. Not something to wait out — after several hours the tissue starts to sustain permanent damage.

Sudden loss of vision or hearing, one side or both. Stop and get seen urgently.

Both rare. Both measured in hours.

Give it several tries

A single attempt is a poor basis for judgement. The first occasion brings expectation and self-monitoring, which work directly against arousal.

Several occasions, under reasonable conditions, give you something you can actually assess.

Ordering without prescription: how it works

Lozenges are convenient to keep to hand, which is most of why people choose the format.

Pick the strength and the pack size, put in a delivery address, confirm. Couple of minutes, any time of day, no queue and no conversation across a counter.

It goes out in plain packaging. No pharmacy name on the outside, nothing that hints at what is inside. How long delivery takes depends on where the parcel is headed.

On price it comes down to strength and pack size. Larger packs generaly work out better per unit.

If something arrives damaged anywhere in the UK, send the order number and a photograph the same day. We replace free of charge or refund in pounds. Do not use medication from a damaged blister.
